Here are 10 yoga poses that can help you relieve stress and tension:
1. Child's Pose (Balasana): Start by sitting on your heels and slowly bend forward, bringing your forehead to the mat. Extend your arms in front of you and hold the pose for a few breaths.
2. Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): Start on your hands and knees, then lift your hips up and back to form an inverted V-shape with your body. Hold the pose for a few breaths, then release.
3. Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana): Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet on the floor. Lift your hips up and hold the pose for a few breaths, then release.
4. Cat-Cow Stretch (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana): Start on your hands and knees, then alternate between arching your back (cow pose) and rounding your spine (cat pose) as you inhale and exhale.
5. Standing Forward Bend (Uttanasana): Stand with your feet hip-width apart and slowly bend forward, letting your head and arms hang down towards the floor.
6. Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana): Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Slowly bend forward, reaching for your toes or shins.
7. Corpse Pose (Savasana): Lie on your back with your arms and legs extended, palms facing up. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
8. Legs Up the Wall Pose (Viparita Karani): Lie on your back with your legs extended up the wall. Hold the pose for a few minutes, breathing deeply.
9. Eagle Pose (Garudasana): Stand with your feet hip-width apart and arms by your sides. Cross your right arm over your left arm and bring your palms together. Then, cross your right leg over your left leg and wrap your right foot behind your left calf. Hold the pose for a few breaths, then release and repeat on the other side.
10. Tree Pose (Vrikshasana): Stand with your feet hip-width apart and shift your weight onto your left foot. Bring your right foot to rest on your left inner thigh. Press your palms together in front of your heart and hold the pose for a few breaths, then release and repeat on the other side.
